Sahan Society Centre’s ethos is to work with the vulnerable hard to reach society and assist them to have a better quality of life for them and their families. A request was made by the number of members (particularly women) to be trained in a profession in order to gain employment. The charity had responded by providing training sessions and courses on a weekly basis. The centre had trained more than 50 women to attain ESOL and QCF (previously NVQ) level 2 in Health and Social Care qualification in order to be employed as care workers. The courses were tailor made and additional support was offered to those struggling with the course material. The charity has been approached by the London Borough of Hillingdon Adult Social Services, Hillingdon Hospital Discharge Team, Harlington Hospice, Age UK Hillingdon and members of the public to use the charity’s services and around the possibilities of continually improving the quality of its staff training and developing further partnership working to the benefit of the community it serves.
